Hidden Gem of Costa Rica: 18 Photos of Puerto Viejo

Do you like beaches? What about delicious, fresh seafood? Reggae music? Chilled out Caribbean vibes?

If you answered yes to more than one of those, then I think you will love Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica.

Puerto Viejo is a 4 hour drive southeast of San Jose, close to the border of Panama.

Upon arrival I felt an instant connection to this place. It was colorful, vibrant and laid back. People were hanging out in the streets, drinking in the open air bars near the ocean, music was playing in almost every establishment. It was so full of life.

I instantly fell in love with the place. After 3 days here, we decided to extend our stay another 4 days!

In fact, if you have 3 weeks in Costa Rica we'd probably recommend that you spend a few days in Puerto Viejo!

Here are just a few pictures that show just how lovely and lively Puerto Viejo is!
