Travel Now: Cities Soon Underwater

It's happening. The West Antarctic ice sheet is melting. So is Greenland. And that means the global sea level is rising.

Some of Europe's oldest and most prominent cities will be erased by the sea. Southeast Asian beaches flooded. U.S. city streets to become swamp marshes.

The sea level has risen 8 inches since 1990. Scientists project that the sea level will rise another 2 to 7 feet by the end of the century. The increase is due to the heat caused by CO2 emissions trapped in our atmosphere, which serves as the catalyst for the melting ice sheets across the globe.

We wanted to share a list of incredible and mind-blowing cities around the world that are about to be underwater. Now is the time to visit as many as you can and take in each cities' history and culture before it's ruined by the sea.

Make sure to take pictures to show your grandchildren, they probably don't believe these places actually existed.
